Joseph C. Iraci, M.D., F.A.C.S

Dr. Joseph Iraci is a graduate and valedictorian of Fordham University and New York Medical College. After surgical residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital and fellowship training at The University of Pittsburgh Dr. Iraci began surgical practice in 1983. He is Board Certified in Surgery and Critical Care Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His areas of special interest are minimally invasive abdominal and gastro intestinal surgery as well as hernia surgery.

Sergei Dolgopolov, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Sergei Dolgopolov started surgical practice in Moscow, Russia in 1985 after graduating from Moscow Medical Academy and surgical residency. He continued his surgical education in SUNY Downstate Medical Heath Science Center at Brooklyn and joined Surgical Associates of New York in 2000. Dr. Dolgopolov is Board Certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His areas of interest include oncologic, hepato-biliary, and pancreatic surgery as well as minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery.

Mark P. Zoland, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Mark Zoland received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, and his medicine degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1993. He has been Board Certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2001. His areas of expertise include minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic and conventional hernia surgery, specialization in sports hernia surgery, and abdominal surgery.

Valery Dronsky, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Valery Dronsky graduated from Russian State Medical University in Moscow, in 1988. Since then he started his surgical career as the faculty member of the same University. He has extensive clinical research experience at UCSF California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Then he continued his surgical education as a resident at Lenox Hill Hospital and SUNY Downstate Medical Heath Science Center at Brooklyn. Dr. Dronsky completed Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic Fellowship in Lutheran Medical Center at Brooklyn and was working as a Surgical Attending / Clinical Assistant Professor in General, Minimally Invasive and Trauma Surgery. Now, as a part of Surgical Associates of New York, his interests are laparoscopic surgery and general surgery.

Shane Dawson, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. M. Shane Dawson received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He then completed his surgical training at Lenox Hill Hospital and fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Duke University. Dr. Dawson returned to New York in 2004 and began his surgical practice. He is board certified in both general surgery and critical care medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His areas of clinical interest include minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery and oncologic surgery.
