Did you know that it is estimated that approximately 10% of people live with gallstones? Classic symptoms of gallbladder problems are right sided pain, usually sharp, and under the rib cage. Sometimes the pain radiates to the back.
Most people don’t know, however that other typical symptoms exist. Nausea, especially with fatty or greasy foods is common. In addition, vomiting can occur. Finally, pain in the right shoulder or neck can occur, and although this may seem muscular, it may be a referred pain from the gallbladder stone.
People often time live with gallstones, without any symptoms. If symptoms become a recurring issue, however, surgery may be required.
